Research from October 2021 shows that 4.5 billion of us worldwide are using social media. This year, the figure is surely going to be even higher.

Are you and your team wanting to make an impact? Are you planning your strategy this New Year? Here are 5 important tips to take onboard for 2022.

1. Go Live

Did you know that by the end of this year, live video reach is expected to hit 15 fold growth and grow to become a massive 17% of all internet traffic? If you and your team haven’t already joined the growing numbers of marketers using live video this year will be a good time to implement them into your social media marketing strategy.

Live videos are a great tool for giving your audience a good peek behind the scenes of your business. They give you a chance to stimulate more personal connections with both your existing customers and potential customers with features available to share news, create polls and answer questions.

2. TikTok

The App that changed social media forever.

With over 1 billion users in 2021, this savvy app is easily one of the most favored apps in the world.

Not long ago, this app was predominantly used by teens and young people as a platform to share amusing videos. Now, it’s a fast growing social media marketing tool.

The app’s main feature is short snappy videos which you can add text, music and various effects to. Lots of people are using TikTok right now however, many businesses are still hesitant to join the platform. Because of this, there will be less competition for your brand, leaving opportunity to get ahead in the game and make your mark and get people interested in what you’re selling.

3. Get Your Audience Involved

An easy and effective way to engage your audience is User-generated content (or UCG for short).

To put it simply, any post, video or comment falls under the umbrella of User -Generated Content. For example, if one of your customers takes a happy picture of themselves with one of your products then proceeds to upload it to Instagram and tags your business profile in the picture, this is considered UCG.

Make sure to do a shoutout when someone creates content promoting your business and share it to your feed and stories, this is a brilliant way to encourage others to follow suit.

4. Stick to Shorter videos

A little while ago, many brands believed long form videos were the route to go. Thanks to the birth of Instagram Reels, Youtube Shorts and TikTok the game has transformed into the opposite.

Keeping your videos short and sweet ensures your audience have less chance of losing interest. The trick is to get them hooked and wanting to explore your brand further, however, keep in mind that “click bait” type videos usually have the opposite effect.

5. Invest In Paid Ads

Are you and your team in need of some assistance to make sure you’re standing out from the crowd? Investing in paid advertising is an effective strategy.

Paid advertising helps you showcase your products and services to the people who are most likely to make a purchase with you. There are many options for every business, and a lot of agencies accommodate for even the smallest advertising budgets.
