How much I made on my first month with Medium
But let’s start with why I’m here in the first place.
The Beginning
I have enjoyed reading articles here since I discovered Medium, way back in around 2019 (soooo long ago) and since then, I have been glued. It’s amazing the amount of things you can learn from other people on here. Of course, within the first week I became a member so I could read more. Now, I’ve always been a sucker for reading and writing, I think it had something to do with my amazing English teachers in secondary school. So, it was a natural progression for me to start writing my own articles.
The Partner Program
Medium’s partner program really interested me. Getting paid for writing about things I love and enjoy? Bonus. So, I got to writing a few articles and had one of my lovely staff write up some articles whilst I worked on other things. I wondered how they would perform. I wasn’t expecting miracles, but I had heard so many people talk about this program and all those “OMG look how much I made from my first 10 Medium articles!” posts, I was expecting something.
My Earnings
So how did they perform? At the end of the month, we’d published about 9 articles. Most of them had performed terribly. They were well written, formatted great, good images etc. but still didn’t get enough traction to make much noise. So, how much did I earn? Well, you’ll be surprised to know that all in all, the total amount (in dollars) was $0.08 (0.06GBP) 😂
